This is the end!

Make sure you have completed your blog posts. After Friday there will be no other opportunities to complete them. Missing posts will make it impossible to earn an "A" for the quarter.

Final Minecraft projects will be put on a thumb drive that I provide. Make sure you go through them this week as if you are a student or teacher who is entering your world for the first time. Are the directions clear? Is the objective clear? Are signs plentiful and informative?

Blog Assignment due at the end of exam week

For your last Minecraft blog post you should detail the following:

Explain your lesson/world. What does it consist of?

What is the educational objective?

What went into building it? Redstone, cheats? What new tricks or skills did you learn in Minecraft?

Lastly, what research went into creating your lesson?

Remember, your post should be reflective and thorough.  This should be your most extensive post to date; there are many questions to answer.

Lesson with Mrs. Deller

Take a screen shot of your work at the start of the period and the end. Add them to your Google Doc proposal and describe the work you completed for the day.

Make sure whoever created your world logs in as a single player with minecraft - not minecraftedu. You then need to open the work via lan. The rest of the group will also log in with minecraft, but they will choose multiplayer.

The other group is off to a fantastic start. Work hard today.

Minecraft blog post

Having had a week to explore Minecraft in both creative mode and survival mode, do you feel there is a place for Minecraft in the classroom?  Is one mode better than the other if the goal is educational? When considering the 4Cs, does Minecraft support and nurture any of these more than the other? Each question should be answered thoroughly on your blog.

Minecraft and the sub.

Go to my handout folder on Optimus (command + k from finder). It will be under Middle School and then my last name.  Drag the Minecraft folder onto your desktop. This is the same one I installed on the Macbook Airs. Open it and follow the same procedures to install that you did last time. Here is the server IP address: 172.16.217.40

Build something amazing and make sure you put a sign in front with your name(s) on it.  You may work with someone.
